Present-day Framework

Years ago, SharePoint was commonly used as a content repository for most organizations. It still  is. Over time, as the platform’s capabilities became more refined and agile, SharePoint’s role within a number of enterprises transitioned to something more dynamic. SharePoint became a solution not just for IT but for every department.

As more organizations enter the age of digital transformation, emphasis on enterprise content management and collaboration is increasing. Many organizations are turning to supplementing their existing ECM repositories with cloud services. Yet it is recognized that not all companies feel entirely comfortable with this approach. As Microsoft addressed the features and functionality complaints of past SharePoint versions, user adoption has increased. Don’t cut corners–be it in planning, managing the costs of implementation, or in hiring competent resources. If the organization needs outside consulting or third-party applications, thoroughly research the experts that provide these services and solutions. Ask a lot of questions. And, last but not least, get your teams who will be using the platform on-board. Offer training for employees to foster user adoption. By having solid policies and user adoption, SharePoint can be your organization’s best friend.
